What's harder to see from the outside — and sometimes from the inside — is that the stability the Self-Preservation Nine (SP9) projects is partly structural and partly protective.

The routine isn't just a preference. The comfort isn't just a nice thing. Both of them are doing a quieter job: keeping the SP9 from having to risk the disruption of growing.

This doesn't mean the SP9 isn't capable of growth. It means their version of inertia is particularly well-disguised. It looks like steadiness. It feels like staying grounded. And it's worth examining with some honesty, because the business that's running on comfort has limits that a business running on intention doesn't.

SP9s can state their desires in general terms. They struggle more with committing to specific, concrete outcomes with real timelines.
